traditional garden design 2.jpg
The owners of this large property, located on the scenic Selby Lane in Atherton, wanted to create an intriguing formal garden to match the unique architecture of their sprawling home. The final design was intended to provide distinct spaces on each of the three sides of the house that the garden encompasses. Each of these spaces has their own feel and purpose yet is clearly apart of the greater theme of the garden and home.
So Unique . . . Steel plated water feature at the end of the driveway with a cascading fountain that the cars can drive across is just one of the one-of-a-kind custom features designed for this very special home in Atherton.
Round boxwood hedge at different levels is a very classic and dramatic way to frame this driveway
Can you imagine how stunning this Magnolia Espalier will be in the Springtime?  Unmatched plant selection and care.  This Magnolia is approximately a 40-year-old specimen shipped from a Washington state tree farm, specifically selected for this contemporary garden
Specially selected trees were flown in from Oregon and Washington tree farms.  This grand Crepe Myrtle was chosen to serve as a beautiful focal point at this San Francisco Bay area garden.
We strive to provide our clients with drought tolerant and easy-to-maintain planting options
Beautiful lanterns made from bronze and stainless steel were hung from the tree near the entrance for added flair and interest.  They were re-wired so they would automatically turn on with the landscape lighting in the evenings.
Weeping cherry trees in limestone planters enhance the classic criss-cross pattern of the large square concrete pads . . .  a smart design because the artificial turf strips hide unsightly drain grates

This home looks as beautiful at night as it does during the day with the purposefully-selected and placed lighting effects
